How to wear a scarf?

1 Nov

Fall is here, which means scarf season.  Here is a look at one of our Fashion Fall Must Haves – The Scarf.

A scarf is not only cozy, but it’s an accessory that will go with anything from a sweater, blazer, or even t-shirt.  Scarves come in a variety of colors, shapes, and styles.  From frayed edges, one colored soft linen, to plaid, and thick knitted, don’t be scared to have fun with your scarf.  Here are a few ways to wear your must have accessory this Fall:
frayed scarf (3)

With a frayed look.  Fold your squared scarf into a triangle.  Hang the tip in the middle of your chest, then tie a knot at the back of your neck and bring the edges to the front of your shoulders or tuck it in.  This will enable you to show off the fringe on the edges of your scarf to hang over your shirt or sweater.

scarf around 2

The most common and easiest way to wear a scarf is to simply wrap it around your neck as little or as much as you want, and let the excess hang over your shoulder.  You can have both ends in the front, you can leave the other part hanging in the back, or you can even wrap it enough to wear there is no excess that hangs over.

scarf loop

A cute variation is the scarf loop.  You can get this look by simply folding your scarf in half.  Put the folded scarf around your shoulder, then take one end and put it through the loop where you folded the scarf and pull.  You can keep it lose or tight around your neck for various looks.

Hope these fashion tips helped with your scarf crisis this Fall.

How to be fashionable in 3 minutes?

26 Oct

Whether you woke up late, got a last-minute call for a lunch appointment, or just landed from a 10 hour flight, sometimes 3 minutes is all we got to get ready.  No fear ladies – just because we only have minutes doesn’t mean we have to look like we just rolled out of bed.   When on the go, all you need to add to your outfit are these 3 simple items:

1 – Sunglasses

Got bags under your eyes from a long night?  Eye’s still red from lack of sleep?  Or have no time even just for mascara?  A pair of sunglasses will do the trick.  Not only will this work as a cover up, it will spruce up any outfit.

I’m lucky enough to live in California where almost everyday is a sun shiny day and we do need sunglasses most of the time.  However, if you live in a place where sunglasses isn’t a daily accessory, throw on a hat instead, such as a Fedora, which can practically go with anything from jeans, dresses, and shorts.

2 – Lipgloss

Dab on some lipgloss.  “Why not lipstick instead,” you may ask.  Well, not all lipstick colors go with everything and sometimes lipstick is not appropriate with certain outfits.  If you have on workout clothes with lipstick on, that might just look a little odd.  However, lipglosss goes with everything.  Even a clear or muted color will add a little sas to any look.  Best of all, you won’t even need a mirror to put it on, and this is something small  that you can carry with you at all times, which I highly recommend by the way.

3 – Medium sized Hoop Earrings

Look glam without even trying with simple medium-sized hoop earrings.  Simple because you don’t want to over do it and medium so that it won’t overpower your whole look.

1… 2… 3… and wah lah!  You’ll be ready in 3 minutes and be fashionable too.

Shopping Sidenote — Christian Dior Beauty currently has a lipgloss charm that is fabulous.  Not only does it come with 2 colors, but the casing is too cute to boot – a mini replica of the Lady Dior Bag!  As I mentioned above, lipgloss is a must have at all times, so this is a perfect charm for your purse.  Makes a great key chain.  😉
